Good morning guys. I just recently picked up this Velzy longboard from a local well known surfshop where it was on consignment. I was told it was shaped by Dale Velzy for “Scooter Allen”, who was supposed to have been a Velzy team rider in the day. I was just wondering if anyone had ever seen a Dale Velzy shaped Velzy where he had signed the stringer but printed his name instead of writing it in cursive. Also, does anyone have any info on Scooter Allen? I tried searching and came up with nothing. Thanks guys!
After doing some research and thinking, i was wondering if this might make sense. On his older boards (50s, 60s) that he hand shaped, he signed in cursive. When he stopped making them himself and they were made by (ghost shapers?) they used a laminat of his old signature from the vintage boards. The more modern ones that he happened to shape himself would have his hand signature, but by the 80s/ 90s he was writing his name in regular print? thanks for any input guys!
