this suucks so bad! - regulation got so relaxed in the past 10 years - these pipes used to be monitored by Fish & Game, now they are only monitored by the company, and they are criminals - Plains All American Pipelne (based in Texas) spilled 700,000 gallons in the past 8 years, and are in the top 5 worst companies for spills - they should be put out of business, insted they are a 48 billion $ company: VAMPIRES!  boycott these f*&^ckers and make them pay…

any swaylockers out there seen this spll in person?  just curious , and thanks for posting this Warthawg

I live about 1-1/2 hrs north & just listen to the local news to get updates. Go to ksby.com. they are pretty much doing round the clock coverage of it.

Where are you at Parthenon?
I am in the valley of the bears.

Cayucos!

What gets me so angry is it’s such pristine coast, and it could have been so easily prevented. Those assholes sued to excuse themselves for being responsible for periodic inspection. The Reagan 80s, they won.

They were too greedy to pay for a couple of goddam jobs.

over 50% of all oil entering the ocean is from natural oil seeps. It is the cost of doing business to let you not wait in line for fuel for your auto. They are all over it in regards to controlling the spill. If your lived in China or India it would be an “oh well” moment. Total bummer for the holiday weekend and loss of business in the SB area. Nature has a way of healing itself in spite of man’s f^$k ups. Stay positive.

controlling the spill?..  Warthawg is accurate, from the Reagan era on we have steadily de-regulated.  Up until about 15 years ago, these pipes had been regulated/monitored and inspected very closely by local Fish & Game.  They were “on it”.  Due to de-regulation, these pipes are monitored by the company, in other words, the company failed to monitor properly, and allowed the spill to happen.  This is a case of profits are more important than environment, and a company with this many violations that is still doing 48 billion $ worth of business, well that starts to look a lot more like how they do business in China, not the USA.
