Anyone out there own / ride one of Michael Cundith’s Dart Fish ?
What size do you have, how does it go ?
Looks like a good little beach break zipper with that pulled in tail pod.

Okay, lemme put it this way-
all other things being equal,
what would the difference in performance or ‘feel’ be,between these two planshapes?
Cheers guys (and girls)
personally I think you would get much better performance out of the second one due to the overall planshape.
I am sure I will be crucified over what I am about to say, so dont hold back anyone, but here it goes.
That first orange fish style board would be good up to about waist high and then you would have to start nursing every turn you pushed it into. The arse end is too wide, the wide point looks forward and it would look great in your lounge room or your garage.
There is a reason they stopped making them, and the reason is they dont work. Or should I say they have a very limited range of conditions that they will work in.
I read somewhere a while back, and I cant remember who the author was , but they explained it as “like trying to ride a bar of soap around a bathtub”.
Now the second one looks like a whole lot of fun in small waves, and will be surfable in a much wider range of conditions.
Yes I do have a something very similar to the orange one in my quiver and I do ride it when Huey goes to sleep and it is fun but only up to a point.
Of couse this is just my opinion.
Hope that helps.

I was all set to fire away and start my fish.
I liked the template of that Pavel ,so I traced it on aps 3000 and blown up it fitted the dims I wanted perfectly,
6’ 7’‘-8’‘,22 n a bit, 12’’ between the pins(I’ve got size 12 feet and I read somewhere the rule of thumb is to make the pin spread the same in inches.)
Then I saw MC’s boards and some instinct made me go hmmmm.I like the curve in the rail line.
Twelve inches is hell wide-I saw a quad fish in a local shop the other day,the tail points looked a mile apart but measured 10 1/4!
So ,I’ve pulled the tail in a bit to 10 1/2.
Good to go.Maybe a slight sacrifice in down the line speed (?),but I surf mainly beach breaks anyway.
Attached.
Foiled the ply keels today too.
Think I might see a logo here somewhere …
