the boards a 5’6" by 19" , with a 15" tail…the concave starts under front foot and deepens to 3/8" , gradually out to a flat behind the quad fins…the concave is rail to rail between the feet , with hard edges…Ive never done a board like this , so not sure of the performance …?
Kayu,
That is pretty standard bottom.
Good to flatten off tail.
Straight concave off tail seems to be sticky.
Kinda a suction feel.
thanks Barry…I was concerned about how the hard edged tail rails would react in conjunction…there’s no soft chine at all from about 12" above the fins , just edge to edge full width concave…maybe there should be some softening ?
Yeah, rounded tuck to just in front of fins.
Kinda a abrupt transition.
This board is small, maybe in low volume range, edge rails with concave will give it some live.
…yes, like said, that s one of the STD bottom config of a HPSB…
really works if the surfer wants or perform those modern tricks.
I edge almost all my shapes from the nose then hard in that part.
…first time Ive done one like this…my shortboards still have a heavy 70’s influence.
