Dependable Blank Companies

good good :o)

will have some soon then!! gotta be better than surfari

sofa,

I’m really happy with WNC foam. Really nice guys too.

I should say that I shaped a fish about 80% and then waited a month–a hot month, mind you–but by the end of the month the stringer was all twisted. I called them up, told them, and they told me to pick out any blank I wanted, which they definitely didn’t need to do. I picked up my new blank and it’s nearly flawless.

They’ve changed their foam formula slightly and the result is very good. It’s light and strong and can finish with a real tight surface. You hardly need to seal it (which is the step I hate most about EPS).

So, yeah, WNC is a good option especially if you live in SD.

Xtra Foam and Safari are two separate companies. The newer Safari is much better than what they launched in the begining. The first batches were terrible.

Just shaped a batch of Blair, very nice don’t know about glass or how they will work in the water yet. Also I shaped some Surfblanks America recently it has really gotten very good and surfs really well also.

Forgot to mention with the foam quality improving and also deliveries you can chose whom to work with. Some of the guys out there are real jerks and finally we can say “NO”, we can chose who to work with!

Blair, Blair, Blair, Blair… Need I say it again.

Simply the best! Hand shape with ease, machine friendly, The best for colorwork. Better than Clark or Walker ever were.

Great people, great service, great rocker…Now the solo on the greatest wood and rocker glue up facility.

Come on. I used all that other crap. The sh!t practically melted on my shaping racks. Just sanding them was enough pressure to dent the other side… Boooo!

You must be talking about US because all the Aussie type formulas are harder not softer. Yes Blair is ok but they still need more plugs. Don’t write off the other crew that has good foam also like KM, Surfblanks, some Bennett and the newer Home Blown which is MDI and lately very good (very tight cell structure and uses less resin). If I can find an MDI which comes close to TDI I will switch just to do my part for our envirment. No matter what anyone says and I’m a TDI fan anything and I say anything we can do to go greener we should do. Bring on new resins and clothes etc. I don’t care how good a company is I will never put 100% of my eggs in one basket! Also I won’t buy from self centered egos!

No one up here in Ventura has those blanks. And while you are trying to be greener, buy an American made one. Mexico isn’t doing anything for the enviroment but bad things. Idont know who’s ego you don’t like at Blair but from a non biased point of view I think they are the best hands down. I am lacking big blanks, but still have a few walkers close to me. I also ran Channins cutting machine and I’ve used everything out there. So I’m not talking out my a$$. Oh and I do have a Bio blank in my shop. It looks like it has a giant doubble concave top and bottom from shrinking sooo much. Great stuff.

Board Design,

I know your a Newbie and I think you have it wrong. I buy Blair and I like it. I didn’t insinuate anything about their ego I was addressing other companies egos which I did not name. I don’t care if the foam is from USA or Mex as I know the surfers making foam there and here and I have been to the factories. Your comment about the environment and mex is off base, those factories are there for labor savings not environmental controls. You should go check them out being a board builder they’ll give you a tour. Mexico also has EPA and their strict. Just trying to keep it all on this side of the world!

Also the HB blanks I shaped are USA Made and they are not Bio. Give the guys a break and give them another try hey were all just surfers here!

Strict compared to what??? Guatamala… Your right right I’m a “newbie” I guess that means you know more.

No it means your over sensitiv, if you don’t like the water don’t swim in the sway!

a newbie, my goofy foot, most likely another blair or bing troll

troll what are you talking about I can tell you blair is probaly the most dependable company on the market I get my orders processed in days and the blanks are tight. spot on rockers no twisted stringers which most of the other blank companies have ,great wood, little to no bubbles, excellent pricing, made in america, consistant density, great people , excellent customer service. I have not had one complaint from any customer since I started selling blair nothing but more orders. I can tell you the guy you are calling a troll is a master craftsman one of the best complete board builders out there.

Sensitive? Is that what you meant? Hardly, my skin is quite callus. Just get tired of swimming in the bullsh!t.

Oh and a Bing troll. ha ha. Yep, I make Bing brand boards. Funny, someone must have done some research. I guess this must disqualify me as someone with an opinion. Do I have any vested interest in Blair? No. Does this mean I haven’t had my hands on every foam that made it to the U.S.? No. Matter of fact I just recently (have only shaped five) decided to switch all of my boards over to Blair because I like it (to shape it). I still have forty or so Walkers. Anyone want to buy them?

Were all surfers right. We all have our opinions eh? I’m just posting on a topic that said “Dependable Blank Co.” This one happened to fit the topic.

Walkers for sale… Come and get em!!!

“Dependable Blank Companies”

Saw the topic, figured id throw in my 2 cents… I make EPS Blanks in North Florida and operate out of Jacksonville. Not a large scale operation, but I dont mind shipping out blanks for larger orders, and try to keep my prices low and competitive. Always looking to network in new places and I love to take on the challenge of making new different blanks.

okay im done promoting myself.

CHEERS

No one up here in Ventura has those blanks.

Wait a minute I’m very confused? Earlier you said the above “No one up here in Ventura has those blanks.” but then you say you make Bing. But if your Matt a or a close friend then don’t you shape in South Bay? What gives fill me in I’m confused.

No southbay here. Ventura. Just contract build high end boards with the Bing name on them. No other buisness relation to them. I can use whatever materials I like. Chose Blail for the easy shaping and the great look with color. I also don’t hide behind avatars while calling people out with with no consequence. So what boards do you build Cuttie, Bigdaddy??

Good for you I now realize we know many of the same people. Shark attack fatality down here in Solana Beach. First since 59 in SD county. Helicopters flying up and down the coast clearing the water. Radical like being in Durban!

What boards did you say Cuttie? Must have missed that part between all the chit chat? Did you meet them at anonymous anonymous meetings?
