Dewey Weber Ski ?'s

Thinking of picking up a SKI. Super bad, even still has the original fin…  Is this thing even practical for me here in NC when there’s no chest high or bigger swell.  Ive only ever seen Nat Young on one and man fell in love with the fluid ride. But!!! I don’t want to get sucked in by a film as old as  myself in waves better than Ive even seen in a awhile and never really consistently here.  We’ve got a point break when the winds right, mostly steep beach break, a blast on a fish, or longboard.  Its time to get a new board and this is an option (a 40th present to myself maybe).  My dream is out because of cost - a Bing Mini Pintail or Tyler 777, and then there’s the Phil edwards I wrote of in the dumbest move post.  What do yall think?  Anybody out there had one  ridden one  think I’m over thinking this?

Oh and any advice on a great fin for noserider.  Got a 9" on my wife’s 9’6" but am thinking a hatchet like Single Fin Yellow style would be a bit more stable on weak days and the soup—willing to experiment and I really appreciate the words-

That gave me a chuckle.

I rode a Ski for a while. Got it used from Mike Tabeling. Mine had a flat deck and kicked nose. Very light for its time. Rode great.

I truly appreciate the insight- sounds like it might be the way to go

and Sammy A you’d really chuckle if you saw me trying to surf that place!

There are a variety of results getting a vintage Weber SKI, or any old board for that matter. You may end up having a blast on it, get disappointed trying to ride something outdated or somewhere in the middle. From what I remember, that board had a fuller outline compared to some of the other models Weber was pumping out back then. The best thing you can do if you get the board is to not get your expectations too high, be realistic and keep an open mind. Hope it turns out good for you.

I had a Weber Ski in North Carolina in 1969. Could it be my old board?

Mine was 7’0 and with no tint. Bottom of board had outline of acid drop. It would be cool to see a pic of this board.

Turns out not be such a good deal after all. A change has occurred on this end

Such is life and as always thanks for the input
