Dialing in a 6'8 EPS Daily Driver – Thoughts?

Hi all,

looking for some feedback before I shape this (BoardCad images below).

I’m 38, around 100 kg, lower intermediate. Mostly surfing European beach breaks with the occasional point. The idea is a daily driver EPS hybrid — easy paddling and speed in average waves, but still responsive and not too corky.

Dims are 6’8" x 21.5" x 2.69", coming out at about 42.1 L. Wide point is basically centered (+0.17"), and center of mass is roughly centered as well.

Rocker is 5.39" nose / 1.68" tail with a continuous curve.

Bottom will be light single to double through the fins into a slight V out the tail. Rails soft up front, neutral through the middle, sharpening up in the tail.

Construction is EPS (35 kg/m³) with epoxy, 6+4 deck and 6 bottom.

Main things I’m unsure about:
Does ~42 L make sense for my size and what I’m after?
Is the tail combo (fairly wide + low rocker) going to feel too stiff?
Would you take a bit more out of the tail foil or leave it as is?

Overall just wondering if this looks balanced or if anything stands out as off.

Thanks!

I Hotwire my own blanks and I would recommend using a known good blank file as at least a starting point. You can always keep the bottom curve and adjust to top to the foil you want to cut down on shaping time. AKU has links to many blank manufactures’ files. The Artic SBF would be a good one to look at.

Check out Stretch’s “Square One” model. Similar rocker and a good place to start.

European beachbreack…where? There is lot of diffence at only few distance. This should impact tail rocker and width. At 100kg you should go with at least 2x6oz on deck even on 35kg/m3 eps foam. Not so easy to find this foam no?
