which are you using to seal your boards?
what about using the sealer instead of future polish as the base for airbrushing?

…man, you re a bit confused
with a floor liquid you can t seal anything
also, you only needs water or mineral water to airbrushing
if you have a bleed is because poor dilution or bad technique or not so good paint
or dry times, etc
you really don t need a floor product to thin out a paint
but yes like H S say you can use that
-to seal the board and provides some kind of “smooth rough” finish like the comp racing boats, you should use an acrylic varnish
just to add some info in here for Tommy
"sealing a board" refers to a sanded finish, as to seal it with floor acrylic to seal the sand coat of which takes the place of a gloss coat which is the actual third and final step in the glassing process
Lam
sand coat
gloss/polish
performance boards are usualy left at the sanded stage then maybe sealed with future acrylic and then maybe lightly buffed with whatever is handy.
Thanks Ken - Yeah, that’s exactly what I was asking. Can you use Future acrylic as that final sealer instead of the more expensive stuff?
I’ve looked at Safeway and 2 Orchard Supply stores and haven’t been able to find Future… anyone know where in Santa Cruz to get some?
Hi Tommy -
Herb Spitzer has used floor finish with really good results. Multiple coats applied with an applicatior and buffed. Not sure which brand he used or if he's still doing it that way but I know he posted a couple different types at various times. Future, Smart&Final, Behr and some sort of military spec'd ceramic have been mentioned by Herb if I recall correctly.
Last time I went for Future the name had been changed to Pledge "with Future Shine" below the main logo. Same bottle, same smell... pretty sure it's the same stuff.
Ya future is hard to find these days
Herb turned me on to some S&F ...worked great
…hell o buddies,
of course you can do whatever you want
but my advice is a secure and professional way to do the stuff
think for ex all those external paints in the boards
and all saying that use rattle can clear…then with few weeks you see how start to peel off everything
and micro infiltration occurs too
so, pass your floor liquid or use the rattle can
then you ll scratch your head guessing what s wrong…
but I see that sometimes the guys don t wanna listen
I always try to provide proved advice not guessed things
