Difference between egg and speed egg?

For bigger waves ??.

Narrower??

Flatter rockered, or extra rockered??.

Keen to find out guys

One has the word " speed" in the name the other doesn't.

From what I have seen Eggs, like Fish have pretty much come to describe a wide verity of rounded shaped boards.

I am rather a purest with what I see as an true egg shape It is a subtle blend of curves all flowing and all relating to each other tail and nose are about the same in width something like 13.5" to 14"  rocker is also rather soft and lower.  The speed egg would be about the same but with a slightly narrower outline. Same basic concept of "Keep it simple stupid." Rails should be a soft blend maybe a 60/40 no hard edge.  The simplicity of an egg hides some pretty sophisticated thought.

Some shapes have made some slight changes to bottom contours adding channels v and all manner of fin placements, while keeping to the basic consept of the egg.

I know one when I see one and EGGS are NOT " Fun Boards! But they are fun to ride.

Thanks mate, im nearly finished a 6'6'' egg, but was thinking of a longer, narrower one for head to head high. Either that or a longer shortboard, resinhead style!

speed egg

A rather nice looking exsample of a "speed egg."

“I know one when I see one”

She has an egg. Speed egg. EGG. SPEED EGG! Ehh who cares.

Skipper and Holly made “real eggs” lots of roll foil  glide. I was joking with Becker about the name “speed egg” he said they were fast, “speedy” to shape

Any dimensions on a 7'4- 7'6'' reverb???

Very nice ace!

…hello Beerfan, I do not build speed eggs in those lengths (only eggs), no working properly, in my opinion; of course that you can build one for hollow waves that will perform good, but I prefer to offer a semi gun in those cases.

I build those slim ones up to 6 10, all the others have more eggy outlines, so I do not have proved (tested) dims to tell you in that range for the slims

7'5" x 21 1/4" x 2 3/4".....I call it a Speed Egg.....it's one of those one "board quiver" type of boards....

fancy name for a mini mal

Which came first? The chick or the egg?

It’s all about the colors and the outline.

Don't forget bottom contours and curves.

Nice ray!
