From mollusk surfshop regarding the mphull:“The twist is in the tail - a classic shortboard tucked under edge immediately in front of the fin allows you to get off of the 50/50 center rail at will and gives this board a vertical dimension” and regarding the geebee"George Greenough, Velo inspired hull"
Correct me if I’m wrong but on the mphull and the geebee you are able to shift your weight to your backfoot when cutting back, than on your “hardcore” hull? Is the geebee an even more user- and beachbreak friendly hull than the mphull?
Both boards have small sidefins and seem to differ a lot from example a liddle poitbreak model or other hulls, the geebee outline reminds me a little of the Neil Purchase “schnub”. But what is the real difference between the two(mphull/geebee)?
I guess the Geebee inspired by the short stubbiehull “siglio” ? What is the size range of the GeeBee, one design forum member owned a 6’6mp and a 6 Gebee.
I’m very interested in this as well. Kirk, as I understand it, you know quite a bit about the GeeBee, or? Could you enlighten us some more re its characteristics, pros and cons etc?
ITS SHORTER!!! Brian only makes them short , they fit and the bottom Greenough influence lets it run flat but as you bank it over it turns in a shorter arc on the soft chine. The side fins hold it and help the drive. I have Richie Wests 5’5’’ Wilderness made in 1969-70 and thats was the main influence to make a new one and make it user freindly.
