I know that there are alot of different brands of resin. does anybody know if there is higher or lower quality of resin? if so tell me your favorite.thanks-surf forever
There is 249A which is your standard clear polyester resin for surfboards. 949 is a slighty stronger version of 249A. 949 is harder to sand down that 249A. I would only use 249A for surfboards because I do not see a cost/benefit from 949 over 249A. There are several forgein manufactures of surfboard resin but I have not tried them. The UV resins are mostly 249A with UV catayst mixed in. The best thing you can do is stick with the Simlar 249A. Typcially only the surfboard material supply stores carry the correct resins. If you are going to try other resin be sure that they set clear.>>> I know that there are alot of different brands of resin. does anybody know > if there is higher or lower quality of resin? if so tell me your > favorite.thanks-surf forever http://www.viser.net/~anthwind
