i am new here so hi to all
anyway, i am 5’10 120lbs and i am making a 6’6" bonzer. i was wandering if anybody could help me out with some dimensions. any help would be great. i was thinking of making it about 19 inches at the wide point. any dimensions would help.
If you will be using it as a general shortboard go with an 12" nose, 18 3/4 mid, 11" tail 5" tip to tip on the tail. For a minigun go more like 11" nose, 17 3/4-18 1/16mid, 10 inch tail. anwhere from 2-4 inch tip to tip. Should come up with a sweet ride depending on where u place the wide point. My suggestion is 3" behind center for a round or squash tail
Another member of the forum has some shapes at mandalacustomshapes.com youll see some nice mid sized bonzers at that site. also, it is my understanding that the Campbell brothers are approachable. I forget their web address but you can google it. What’s the surf like in Florida now?
Shape what you think you want or need. Modern 5 fin Bonzers are fun and fast if made right. I have shaped a couple of them so far. I am going to be making a 6’-6 or 6’-8" bonzer using the 6’9"A blank. I like my boards in the 19.50" to 21" wide range in a hybrid type shape… should work good at most of my local breaks

ive also got a 69a waiting to be no.3 - can you expand on the numbers you might use for a 6’8 bonzer as it sounds were both after the same sort of board?

The surf in florida was good but the swell is leaving. i think there is another one on the way though. hopefully we get as good of a hurricane season next year as we did this year.
???..all we got was beat…us and the sand bars…ppffffft…last Thursday was fairly sweet…the bars are still junk though…have fun…
Keentolearn… I am thinking a hybrid double ender 6’-8" by 14-1/4" nose, 20-1/4 wide, 14-1/2" tail and 2-1/2" thick… just the standard bonzer double concave starting mid way up… I’d love to shape you one whilst I am at it… ;~)
