Ding on Nose= Flat nose

I got a ding on my custom dick brewer, Its not just a ding, Its the type of ding where 1/4" of the stringer is sticking out. Will making the nose flat effect the ride of my board? Or it wont really change anything?

1/4 inch?  You should be fine.  Sand it, glass it, and go!

I get in arguments all the time bc I make fuller nosed shortboard bc I don;t think the last inch does anything so I cut it off and blend it in.

If you round and glass the tip, the only difference you would realize is if the tip hits you now during a wipeout, it probably won’t punch a hole in you.  Have had the last 1/2" of my surfboard tips rounded off  for past 20 years after a serious gouge from a ‘normal’ tip…
