I built a directory for Shapers, Glassers and Repair Specialists so people like me (and you) can find people who make and/or repair boards.
The idea was pretty simple - I live in Rockaway, NY and it is difficult to find people who repair boards; finding ding repair in Rockaway is typically word-of-mouth or friend-of-a-friend and they’re always backed-up.
I thought building a directory would make it easier for people to find Shapers, Glassers or Repair Specialists in their area while creating a low-effort online presence for the people who are too busy on boards to create a website.
Ideally, the directory is:
- A simple way to find and contact Shapers, Glassers and Specialists
- A means of more work and income for Shapers, Glassers and Specialists
It’s free and very much a prototype (I built this over four days). If you have any ideas or feedback please feel free to write me! I’m very much open to feedback but I’m definitely interested in:
- What do you think of the idea of an online directory to search for crafters?
- How would you typically search for something similar? What mental steps do you take to identify what you want? How do you search?
Not much information now but I put a few dummy accounts so you can see what it looks like - I decided to build it, send it and hope it grows organically.
