Do Sharks Like Yum-Yum Yellow?

Interesting thread over at longboard.net on what colors (if any) sharks are attracted to. Seems yum-yum yellow is their choice in Hawaii. Stay away from yellow boards?? What do you think?

Bud’s board bitten 4’ to my right by about a 12’ shark was light blue.

Mine was yellow, Pepitos yellow, and Mikes clear… in the circle BS’ing…

demonizing sharks is a mistake

what colors do they like/

ha.

women dressed in black swimming with seals.

is an old favorite.sharks like to eat

sharks to keep the population in check.

do Italian girls like pink jellybeans or green jelly beans?

what a lame choice of topic for a doctoral thesis.

…ambrose…

“do Italian girls like pink jellybeans ?”

Dunno , but my pink jelly bean likes italian girls !

I never thought of it that way…

makes total sense somehow!

Howzit Liki, I don't know if yellow attracts sharks but it does attract every flying insect within miles it seems. Every time I do a yellow board and take it out side to wash or set off UV resin I get bees and wasps flying around the board. Another thing is after we had a few shark attacks in one year people stopped ordering boards with yellow and green since the looked like a turtle and boy do sharks like turtles, yum, yum.Aloha, kokua

a basic principle of shark attack as explained to me by Ian Cairns at cave rock in south africa is “No worries chuck, they always bite the other guy” he spins around , drops in leaving me sitting there, being THE OTHER GUY!!!

and yes, kokua the yellow really attracts bugs here also on the atlantic coast, not sure about the sharks thou

and don’t you eat that yellow snow "

Sharks like anything if they are hungry even a shark camo’d board.

Yellow, and lime green are very popular colors on the west side…

I actually prefer clear cause it’s usually cheaper and colors don’t make the board any faster or looser…

But it don’t matter cause I used to ride pink boards under the premise that “Think Pink!” (an old rock climbing saying) would keep me calm and collected in the most strenuous of situations. I still think PT had something going with his pink fetish…

neon colors are good though when you lose your board going in at dusk or in big white water

It’s happened more that I would like to swim in and can find your board in the break…

Sharks like to eat till they’re full then they don’t care.

Sharks are my friends, my amaukua(guardian), and my teachers. A shark will always tell you when you should leave and when you can stay you just have to pay attention which most people in the water seem oblivious to nowadays…

It’s more vibration and smell than it is colors so does yellow give off a unique vibration in the water or is that yellow stain coming from something you are doing you shouldn’t be doing…hmmm

…you have yellow and green turtles ???

boy oh boy …ozzie ozzie ozzie oi oi oi

I just got a new board with a black bottom. My wife is worried that it makes me look like a 10’ seal. I told her a silouette from beneath doesn’t have much color. Anyway, the sharks would go for the smaller seals. total bs, but it made her happy.
