i could have told ya that picture wasnt from Oc maryland. the water is too clean and bright, and we dont get wave shapes like that during the summer, usually

Our new president-elect has said that he did surf ‘‘a little’’ while growing up in Hawaii, but that
he was, in his words, ''a kook". He obviously picked up some bodysurfing skills though, that’s
a nice pic taken last summer.
Just back from HI … you know I learned to body surf before riding a board, probably will body surf till I’m very old. Still the purest form of the sport.

Surely someone who grew up near the ocean and enjoys playing in it will have greater respect for it that someone who grew up surrounded by desert and oil fields.

A relative of a friend was on court when Obama’s camp came through looking for an extra basketball player. He got to play and said the new pres had some pretty good moves.
Regarding Obama, his speech in Berlin was damn good. It convinced me that for a change, he wasn’t just the lesser of two evils. Compared to McCain’s very weak “Bomb bomb bomb bomb bomb Iran”, there was simply no contest.
It is heartening to learn that the rest of the world is showing approval. Obama has inherited a deep hole and has quite a job ahead of him.
If I’m not mistaken, I think one of the Moonlight guys said on the other forum that Rusty met Obama at some dinner or rally and Rusty ended up shaping him a board that Moonlight glassed…

Even though the economic reality for Australia is probably negative if Obama adopts a more protectionist stance there is an enormous feeling of goodwill towards him here and a sense of a new beginning in terms of America’s foreign policy.
