dog bone mini simmons from The Alley Fish Fry blog

interesting for sure.

old guys, tell us about how you tried this in the 60’s and why it does or does not work.

narrow hips work on snowboards and skis in powder, why not water? the snub nose seems pretty aggressive though.

saw it here http://thealleyfishfry.blogspot.com/ where there are more pics and some details.

i was makng these type of things twenty years ago every now and again someone still wants one i got heavily ridiculed for them still got some down the back shed ill post some, they actully worked alright you can feel something nice one guy that i do boards for still swears by them i remember showing glen winton and he loved em i think he came second in a world title on one cant remember wild times they were anyway there is somethig there.

it looks great and interesting to surf.

the point of the narrow hips on snowboards or skis works only on icey slopes and they are made for a smaller turn radius.

The new parabolic skis/snowboard came when the carving turns were discovered. So if ur board has the enough felx the parabolic thing will make his job and ur turns will have less radius.

I bloody like weird boards.

Hi guys,

this is my board; can’t rave enough about the shape. I’m 6’ and 88 kg. it’s eps 5’3 x 17 x 2 5/8 33L.

initially a bit sceptical about the design, but now I can’t get off the “maxi pad”. Its been my go to board for the last 3 months!

probably the fastest board I’ve ridden. It’s a quad set up and I’ve been using webber wtf twins in the front with modified 3’s I the rear.

surfs straight off the tail and doesn’t really bog at all!

never had so much fun surfing riding this board; make a lot of friends walking to the surf with this under my arm as well.

Going to make a refined 6’2 version - concept below.

hope this helps

this is your board?

"No mistaking the dog bone influence with this outline.

It is 5’3" x 17 1/4" x 2 5/8". Nose / Tail both 19 1/4". Shaped by Matt Green out of Dolphin Surfcraft @ Burleigh. It is EPS and epoxy, stringerless"

wow, very different from the norm.  Love to try something like this someday.
