Regarding people being seen surfing strange vehicles: It kind of makes you wonder, while you’re trying to shape that magic board, “Are all your pain staking efforts and designs really affecting greatly how the rider will perform?” I believe that every finely crafted and designed board is NOT for every surfer. People have different skills and abilities. Maybe a great ride consists of 50% rider ability, 30% wave quality & shape, and 20% board design. One might do well on a 100% perfectly crafted Rusty or Stewart board, and another might do just fine on a sheet of plywood. But of course, a finely shaped & glassed “traditional design” is much more appealing to the eye than a sheet of plywood any day!
