DUMB ASS!!!!!!!

That’s Right, I’m a Dumb Ass and I’ll tell you why. Today I took my 9’ 0" to the glasser. Having never transported a shaped blank much over 7’ feet I was a little stumped on how to do so. usually I just put them in a sleeping bag and stick them in the wagon, but since this one was to big I came up with another idea. I got a 2’ by 8’ foot piece of plywood, laid a couple of 2’ by 2’ foot pieces of upholstery foam on it, then the board and a couple more pieces of foam on top. I then wrapped it all together with some shrink wrap and put it in the back of my truck. Off I went to the glass shop. Well, in the time it took me to drive from west S. B. County to San Luis Obispo (50 or so miles) the parts of the board that were not covered by the foam squares had sunburned!!! That’s right, the nose the tail and a part in the middle all turned a sick little shade of yellow. Bummer. So if there is anyone left in the world who’s more naive than me, learn from my mistake and do what ever it takes and cover your board! I’m guessing that some of you long time shapers are probably shaking your heads and chuckling out the word “Greenhorn” in your best Sam Elliot voice. That’s cool, I think I became a little bit smarter today. Have a great weekend all and surf on, Scott.

Hey, Scott, go to your favorite dry cleaners and ask for some long(est) plastic clothes bags(6ft.), this will reduce/eliminate the wind/sunburn.You’ll have to double them up on longer boards.Herb.(it’s great for blocking U.V.)

THAT IS EVEN AFTER LEAVING THEM IN MY CAR ALL DAY. BUT YOU CAN JUST GET IT AIRBRUSHED ANY COLOR TO COVER ANY PROBLEM (INCLUDING WHITE) SO IT SHOULDN’T COST MORE THAN SAY $20.
