Hi all Dutch Shapers (well I hope you are dutch because that is the purpose of my title lol),
Are there alot of dutch shapers on these forums? Howmany of you do have a proffessional shaping bay?
I wanna get to know some more dutch shapers, get in touch with them and discuss shaping in our own language. I would also really like to take a look at a shaping bay once, not to shape but to look to your shaping stands and your previous work.
I now shaped 2 PU blanks, will finish them soon but I’m also starting with EPS now since EPS has alot of advantages these days.
So all dutch shapers, drop me a line in pm if you feel getting discribed in the above, I would apreciate is alot.
I’m a dutch surfer/shaper! Well, not Dutch but I live in holland…
I’m a student in Delft and though a “studentenvereniging” I have access to a very nice shaping bay with 2 stands and a separate glassing room.
I’ve shaped 3 eps boards and as soon as I find a little bit of time I’ll start on my first PU board. I bought the blank from Mook (another dutch shaper here on swaylocks) and I can’t wait to start. I’m just too busy doing other stuff…
It’s amazing how many dutch surfers/shapers are here on swaylocks. Fascinating to see how big the dutch surf scene is getting…
I do sometimes surf in Wijk yes. Depends where it’s gonna be the best. I live in Utrecht so I’m not at one stone throw from the sea but I enjoy going every week, especially in winter times when the surf is good in our country.
If you want, we can exchange some info and I’ll send you my email adres, so we can surf sometime together ;).
I’m not yet a student, I’m doing VWO 5 currently and I can’t wait to go study and get a room somewhere near the coastline.

And yes Greg it’s fascinating. While Holland is not Hawai like, it’s cool there are so many surfers out to enjoy the basics of surfing.
My name is Erwin and I’m also living in Utrecht and surfing in Wijk. I have a workshop at the Vlampijpstraat where I make all kinds of furniture from stainless steel, wood and fiberglass.(www.automatico.nl) When I don’t have a customer I use the place to make an incidental surfboard. (see resources).
maybe we can check each others boards out in wijk some day, or drive together to the beach.
Door mijn studies heb ik niet veel tijd meer om te shapen maar aan ideeën geen gebrek.
En sinds mijn beste board gebroken is vaar ik terug een winkelboard :(.
Als je in Delft studeert heb je een shaperoom??? Verdomme ik wist dat ik naar Delft moest gaan. Nu studeer ik ingenieur in Leuven.
Voor de moment doe ik dus vooral kleine dingen als reparaties voor mij en mijn maten. Als ik tijd heb in de vakantie ga ik me nog een boardje shapen. Maar meestal boek ik op het laatste moment toch nog een trip naar de golven :P.

Hoi Dutch surfers / shapers. This is Bryant from FCS in San Diego, CA. Mij vrouw komt uit Holland en het volgende kier dat we gaan naar Schreveningen ik maag wel surf met jullie. Als je blief send me an email or two. If you need anything from the states, let me know. I’ve seen the jetty breaking a couple times, but no board or wetsuit. Next time I’ll bring a few boards.

Well, the student life in Leuven is more “balanced” I’d say (read: more partying)… It depends, If you wanna party and meet nice chicks you’re set in Leuven. In Delft you’re close to Scheveningen and indeed, I have access to a very nice shaping bay. Not much to do besides studying though (besides surfing)…
Not technically dutch but long time in scheef now, garage compsander, I hobbyshape. Mook and Wouter are also local chummies here, the three of us compsanders. Have been in touch with a couple of yuz before when searching materials etc…
Maybe this summer a dutch-swaylocks bbq or so?
