I was wondering if an 6’0 egg would be a good choice for jersey waves both winter and summer. I never road a shortboard ever so i dont know how they ride. I only road a 6’2"x 21 3/4 fish. If you have any other suggestions please post
im building a 5’11" egg specifically for nj, de, md waves…its fat and thick for float and has a low rocker for speed on those little mushy summer waves. i wanted longboard wave catching without the long-board. ive never ridden an egg shape so its going to be new for me…im used to more of a modern fish so hopefully it will be a fun board.
shut up glender
watever nick on that moon tail mako made a note to make it a twin with a trailer
if it’s a single fin egg you’ll need a better lined up wave or make it longer. you won’t be pumping a single fin on a mushy day so the glide will come from more board/volume/weight.
In my experience, 6 foot is too short for around here. I made one and it’s simply too short for me. My kid rides it.
alright then what size board would be good and what fin setup should it be
Seven foot is a good length of an egg. But you could go with a retro single fin closer to 6’0… just not an egg. Look at the Machado singles that Merrick is making. They’re fun, with the deep concave off the back and rounded or rounded pin tail.
Eggs surf like mini longboards… unless you go with flex type hull bottom. Thick retro singles are more turnier for just small Jersey surf, and a good alternative to a fish.
