I’m 6’2" and about 195 pounds and wanna buy a double ender style egg surfboard. I want it to be a 2+1 setup so it can be used in a variety conditions. Now here are my questions:
i have NO idea what size these boards should be ridden at but would guess somewhere between 6’6" and 7’ for someone my size…what would you recommend?
Who makes a quality board this shape in the Jersey/New York area?
6’10" 16" x 23" x 14.5" x 3" 2+1 finset up and works great for a 175 - 200lb surfer. Shaped from Clark 6’9" blank. Search the forum for “Daruma” for details. We are really happy with this one!
WOW UncleD thats an awesome board nice job! I’m really likin that resin swirl and the 2+1 setup great job. That’s pretty much the type of board I’m lookin for. I live in NJ and someone recommended Cosmic Bull Surfboards to make me that egg, a guy name Tom Eadon shapes for them. Has anyone had good experience with Tom or know someone that has? thanks and please keep the info comin
You can never go wrong with one of Tom’s shapes,Tom shaped me some great boards when he was making Rise Surfboards. He has shaped me everything from eggs and fish to screwdriver tails. And as a bonus he is a nice guy too.
I think Hobie still makes the Peter Pan model, also Becker makes one LC-3 (or something like that) I had the Becker in a 6’ 10", one of the funnest boards I ever had. I dont know if the clark thing has affected the availibility of these boards, I dont think I have seen them in epoxy. If your shaping, the egg is probably one the easier boards to shape, alot of room for error. I have seen some pretty ugly backyard eggs that seemed to still work real well.
