Emergency: Just put curing Epoxy in my hardener bottle

I just laminated a new board and I stupidly put 20-30g of already curing Epoxy in my 4000g bottle of hardener. Am I screwed, should I hope it kind of hardens at the bottom and I still can use the rest of the hardener or should I try to get out as much clear hardener as possible in another bottle?

The resin is tinted and 99% of it directly sank to the bottom, only a few “threads” are swimming through all of the hardener…

Bummer Parick.

My guess is that only the tinted resin+hardener will get hard and the rest will still be plain hardener.

It’d be worse if it was catalyzed polyester going back in the poly bottle…

Decant and test batch would be my next steps.

Stay stoiched my friends!

you could maybe try straining the harder into a new bottle, to catch the clumpy bits.

Not too sure if it will cause hardening issues though

Just came back from work. The curing resin sank completely to the bottom. I did a test batch and felt no difference, hope it gets completely hard the next 24 hours.

As far as my understanding from epoxy hardening goes, it should be fine. Let’s hope for the best or I screwed 75 Euros…
