epoxy - 2x-4oz or -6oz ?

I use RR epoxy, 6oz bottom - 6 and 4 oz top.  EPS or PU blanks , on my 5th board

im having issues with lap lines. When i start sanding the down i can never get is as smooth as i want. I end up getting visible lap line or worse little dips from sanding the lap line down etc. I have tried soaking the cloth to a minimal or cutting the cloth so it’s above the apex of rail

Maybe im better off just a double 4 oz bottom so the line is easier to sand down? My concern would this be allot heaver then a One 6oz bottom or is not even noticeable?

Two layers of four ounce on the bottom instead of one layer of six ounce will make it a little easier to pick up waves as well as make the board go a bit faster in my experience. I also find 4oz is a little bit easier to fill coat and fair in on the edges. Keep your sanding pad on the middle (don’t lean it to one side) and see how you go.

 Try 2 x 4 Deck and Bottom with S Cloth = 16 oz's

(4 + 6) + 6 = 16 oz's
