This may be answered somewhere in the archives, I didn’t see it. Can epoxy work over poly on a ding repair? Can epoxy be used to repair a poly board?
Thanks in advance for the answeres to this question

yes and yes
most wouldn’t do it that way was since sun-cure poly is so quick, epoxy more expensive, and epoxy may be harder to sand. depends on the ding and what you have lying about, I’d guess.
Wait- I don’t think it’s good to put poly resin over epoxy, if the epoxy board has a styrofoam core- that combo will melt the foam, right? I just used two different epoxy products on a trip for ding repair- one suncure epoxy resin with fiberglass on a poly board- the problem was the resin went off instantly (one or two seconds?) in direct sunlight and stayed where it was stuck. I later read the instructions that said to lay it up in indirect light. It’s really sensitive! The other product was a two-part knead-together product put out by Tufflite that never seemed to really completely harden, but was acceptable.
Yes, epoxy will bond to cured ployester good.
No, polyester will not bond good to cured epoxy
Those are the rules I’ve heard and follow in the boat building and repair world.
