epoxy board prices just went up

[quote="$1"]

I bought a JC stingray 3 weeks ago for $520.I've been contimplating on buying the JC nx1 ,but the one at my local surfshop has minor damage on the bottom.I asked the manager to see if they had another one at the Nags Head shop.He called them and said,"they have one there but it costs $550."I asked him why it was more expensive then the one he has and he replied,"its probably because of the paint job."I called the other shop later in the day to ask them what the board looked like.Come to find out the boards have the same graphics but a different color.Now he doesn't know that the other board cost $535 so I question him why it cost more.He said,"JC boards just cost more than some of the other boards,and that the stingray they also have is the same price."I told him I bought mine $15 cheaper 3 weeks ago.He then goes on to say that surftech just started raising the price on their new shipments.Anyways, I think the epoxy boards are starting to catch on, and their going to bank off of it more.

...........learn about epoxy resin and you will never use the term "epoxy board".........

If you are close to Nags Head go see Scott Busbey @ Natural Art in Buxton- He has been shaping out of that shop for 30 plus years, using EPS/epoxy for quite a few years- doing some cool stuff with vac bagging hard decks(corecell).  He shapes boards well suited for the local waves and his prices are rock bottom.  He is a nice,low key, knowledgable guy-  he even takes trade ins!!

Besides you can talk to him, figure out what you need/want- better than dealing with the "help" at some of the other local shops.
