I have a older (1970) 6'6" single fin that I want to ride but I'm not in the shape to swim for it. I purchased a O'fish'l leash plug that mounts on the deck, without having to drill the glass, but it did not come in a kit with epoxy. My board is poly and I need to know if there is an epoxy resin sold at any local hardware store that one could recommend as being strong enough to use to mount the plug.
Sure - no problem - just follow the directions. Not trying to be nasty or anything re the not in shape, what if your leash breaks ? Just encouraging you to get back in shape and stay safe - enjoy.
...No offense taken as I should have said that I'm not in the shape that I was in my twenty's or thirty's ...I'm sure that I could swim for the board if my lesh broke. I would not want to surf without one due the fact that I'd be swimming for the board killing energy that I need to use to fill my wave count when work, family and waves on Lake Erie do finally come together as one.
So bottom line ...any? "Standard 2comp epoxy glue" that I can get at Walmart, Home Depot or Lowes should work as long as both of the bonding surfaces cleaned and rough sanded?
