Same ratio by weight?? I have the handout of fiberglass hawaii ratios by weight and i’m wondering if i can use the same sheet for RR. Thanks.
(hardener : resin)
1 : 2 by volume
45 : 100 by weight (gram scale works best, figure about 300g to 400g total for a bottom lam of a shortboard)
40 : 100 for Aluzine (thanks bammbamm808)
They are different by weight:
Fiberglass Hawaii Aluzine is 100 - 40
This from the individual who formulated the resin before selling it to Fiberglass Hawaii.
Resin Research is 100 - 45
This from JTroy.
so i’ve glassed a board with RR according to FBH ratios, should i be worried???
Greg told me there’s about a 5 percent allowable error but that error makes epoxy unforgiving.
Not sure what Barry has to say.
Figure that if your work hardened without any wet spots then the resin found enough binding sites.
Post cure the board with heat, so you know you did your best to get the strength up.
