I have been traying to get the base white color that almost every epoxy surfboard has and I couldn’t get it as I was expecting. I’m using white pigment with the glassing so I can have a white background on the board. But it is still not the same finish as I saw in other boards. Should have I to pigment the hot coat too? or piant the foam?
By every other board, might you be talking about clear glassed boards you see on the racks? Greenroom resin, and I assume others, have special epoxies for making ultra white clear glassed boards. Whiter, that you though white was possible. There is no white pigment in it. It’s just ultra clear, making the EPS super white.
The thing is I want a White and Clear background color in the board, I’m pigmenting it and i can’t get an smooth white finish. I want to know the best way to do this. What do you think about seal the blank and after paint it? befor glassing… is this a good option?
