Just a question re eps in australia all the USA boys talk in weight 2lb, 1.5lb or write #2, #1.5 I just want to know how that converts to australian talk. The companies i have contacted state it as Hard (H), very hard(VH), very very hard(VVH). I use the VVH for furnture related things i have been able to rout it with minimal tear out so as a gumby this is probably the best way to go for a first shape in EPS I am not that worried with weight of the board just don’t want to be tearing the shit out of the foam se attached for info.
Hey Boardbumps thanks for that nice work. I will play around with the vvh se how i go. The people at Foamex mentioned surf board guys use the L and SL i thought that may be wrong you just have to fart on that stuff and it tears out.
So yeah Foamex is the place i use the one in Sydney when i am going past i just stop in and go through the off cut sheets usually 2500x1200 in all sort of thickness. If you want to get prices it is a little bit of a pain you have to fax or email them they will get back to you in about two weeks. But they are nice people and supply a great product so does not worry me to much. I think you will pay about $130 for a block you can get two boards out of you would be better of ordering them to hot wire the ruff rocker you may get six or 8 out of a half block. Don’t quote me on that just going of the top of my head.
