1.Can I buy boards direct from Surftech? / Where can I buy your boards? Surftech does not sell direct to surfers. Check our dealer list for the Surftech retailer in your area. Search by location or Shaper. 2.How much do Surftech boards cost? That varies depending on each specific model, shaper and size of the board. Your local Surftech retailer can best quote you a price. 3.What colors do Surftech boards come in? That depends on the model. 4.Where can I get my board repaired? Are they more difficult to repair? Surftech boards need to be repaired with epoxy resins. Each dealer should have a recommended repair technician in the local area. Or for simple repairs check our “self-help” section. You should be able to buy epoxy repair materials at most surf retailers and marine supply stores. 5.Where and how are Surftech boards made? The Cobra factory in Thailand makes Surftech Tuflite and Wood Veneer boards. The process for producing each individual is detailed in the Production Process document. 6.Are Surftech boards environmentally friendly? Since Surftech boards have been proven to last longer, they do not end up in landfills as soon as traditionally manufactured boards. The Cobra factory adheres to and has attained the ISO 9002 standard, a European standard for environmental concerns that goes well beyond all US standards. 7.Are Surftech boards lighter than conventional boards? Surftech longboards and mid-length boards are 2-6 pounds lighter than traditionally glassed boards of the same size. The shortboards can weight a bit lighter to a similar weight to conventional shortboards but Tuflites are much stronger and more durable. 8.Do Surftech boards float better? Both Tuflite and Wood Veneer boards will float better than a conventional board of the exact same dimensions. Our composite epoxy boards extra flotation is proportional to how much lighter the same volume board is compared to a traditional board. So, if the board is 10% lighter, then it floats 10% more. 9.How much tougher are Surftech boards than traditional boards? Approximatly 20-30% stronger. 10.Does Surftech have a showroom? Our dealers are our showroom.
shameless plug. puhlease. no one here cares about your thai sticks.
No Thanks,
I’ve had two, I’ve broken two.
Time will tell how strong these boards are.David.
What a joke, no thanks!!!
EPS is a more advanced foam core than polyurethane. Gives more possibilites for custom shapes. Do not equate the advantages or EPS with a pop-out kook board. There are differences in the total construction. Rumors circulating of BYB and JC building all their polyester boards in Asia. Rob Olliges
A picture is worth a thousand words !
EPS core boards break. PU core boards break. Only flaws with surftech are the lacking stringer and that they are massproduced(not custom tailored). I guess the sandwich construction makes the boards a bit stiffer which helps against breakage, but sooner or later they will figure out a way to mass produce boards with a stringer. Second problem can only be solved by having 133485 different surftech models. Then again 90% of all surfboards(PU or EPS) as sold off the rack, so who are we kidding? regards, Håvard
