So are your icc too stoney? I love to surf, think about it most of the time; surf junkie is the proper term. Sadly, to some, like my family, I would rather ride waves than anything else in the world. I can’t get enough, but I still like to share- even when its bad. Yeah, the local crowd at any beach can be tough to break into, but so is the crowd at the local donut shop, or anywhere else where people gather for whatever reasons. Its the cognitive dissonance created from wanting to be an individual, (or seen as one) and being part of the group. Now I digress: "Why do people get motorcycles, only to join clubs? Or why do people go surfing in groups, and want to join surf-clubs? I would suggest, we all have within us the desire to be accepted by the herd, and we all have a desire to be seen as an individual. Nevertheless, this opposing desires are in conflict to a certain degree, and its certainly easier to hide in a group, and for survival reasons its seen it the animal world.
Walter Lipmann penned the term, “collective herd” around a hundred years ago, Nonetheless, and to them, (whoever they are) its a term of disdain, and something to be manipulated and controlled; Edward Bernays the father of “public relations” knew this and created a fortune all the while abhoring the ones he choose to manipulate. Joseph Goebels too understood the principles and paved the wrong way for the Hitler’s minions. It is suggested and accepted that Hitler had his followers put to death 6 million Jews, which is a trajedy, yet over 60 million abortions have been perfomed in the US, and when looked at vis a vie in a historical legal context both were and are legal.

Someone should explain the best methods for removing EPS or Poly shaping dust, from one’s eye’s, clothes, shaping rooms, and cars because its certainly less intense than the stuff aforementioned, my guess would be a vacuum…
I believe one member recently commented about “wallowing in ignorance.” I have observed, not only do some wallow and revel in it, they are proud of it. It seems some feel threatened by verifiable knowledge.
My self-worth is based on the opinions of internet forum members? After 60 years, I have had more than my share of accomplishments and success. I have no need to be considered an authority about surfboard construction. But really, who gives a flip?
Stoney, someday we are going to go surfing together. I will even let you ride one of my boards, I have at least 50 of them. None of this stuff matters, and who cares if someone offends you on the internet. We bring Skeeenray too, he’s a nice guy. You can ride EPS or Poly I love them both. I still like pulling in deep, and setting a true line, and taking off way behind everyone else though, and you think I only have conflcts on line.
BTW I would have to care to be offended. Sometimes informed banter and cogent discussion lessen the ennui. Occasionally there are small swarms of gnats (if the shoe fits wear it). Besides, I am feeling surly today. LOL
we just see it differently, and that’s ok. Freedom allows us to think how we want, vote our conscience, and hopefully we also try and get along with our neighbor.
And as to being a surf addict, been one my whole life since 12, writing this after an exhausting session in well overhead punchy beachbreak with just a couple of friends. Now retired up in the NW, still in the water every day that conditions or old injuries will allow me.
Keep surfing lcc, and stay free. Perhaps you and Mcding could get together for a surf, or something. Then you could post pictures on here. Last thing I want is to be pigeoned holed as a whatever. Not so easy to love our neighbors, let alone our family members sometimes; still its something to shoot for- and not at!

Yeah I named him “ThinskinRay,” so what, and who cares. Yorky calls me gettorat, and started a thread against me, and I could give, as they say, a rat’s arse. Its all in fun, and if people are so thinskinned that they get offended, maybe they need a thick coat of Bill T.s sharkskin: I wonder if it will help me type faster?
You mentioned “too uptight” publicly on the General Forum, and blocking my PMs (implying I have PMed you more than my only initial PM and the resulting responses? Not). I confirmed your public “too uptight” comment. Nothing more you wrote was revealed.
I posted only my personal comments (not protected by your** “PM confidentiality,” **LOL). All of this resulted from a single PM of a Silver Surfer picture and the words, “My latest build” (also posted publiciy on the General forum as a thread, but later deleted by mods).
Do you think that anyone out there believes we are over 50 by the way we behave? Come on you can’t make this stuff up, or can you? Its hilarious to watch these threads spin out of control like a hurricane, only to end up in “errors and bugs.” I love making surfboards out of anything- even paper mache or popcorn.
