Unfortunately, I can't really bring food, but I will be bringing 100 T-shirts from here. Not sure how many people coming, but it looks like there may only be enough for those who make it. This reunion really gaining momentum! Great organizing efforts by the gang. Big mahalo for that! Butch, I hope we see Charlie and Glen too. They must know what's happening by now. I have a few addresses in my e-mail files and FaceBook friends that have not joined this blog; not that I know of anyway. I've sent info to them; Benny Oasay, Pegita and Bolo Cueva (and family), Jeff Rapoza, Sid Walsh, Danny McClaferty, Steve Nakagawa.... Maybe others can do the same? See you all soon! MB
I still have images burned in my brain of days back in 1973-1974 surfing out at Keeau over that little shelf. Bunch of us Kamehameha kids would camp there on weekends and surf. I remember seeing you attacking that wave.
aloha, Mike, thanks for volunteering to coordinate this event… i will attend with one guess and, um kona pring ulu salad with plenty pest food mayonnaise…sorry all you cholesterol counters, just eat and work it out in the surf…
Eh Naky, howzit. I remember you had the first Hydroplane surfboard I ever saw. The waves then were far better
than todays. Diving off you sea wall, body surfing up to it and kicking back off it and bobysurfing out on the
backwash. Good times but so temperary as time goes on. Memba the Sunn amp you had and the Les Paul. I live 3
houses down and across da street, broke my ears. Bet no fish in front your house wen play da ting. But mostly
nitetime. Memba your 58 Chevy, outa control by da park. You wen bust dat one on da park pillar. Times was nuts
den. But good times no matta. We went plenty places did plenty things but without Anthony watching over us I
tink we would have been in big trouble. Tony always knew wen it was time. Thanks Tony. Your family also took
me in as if I was your brother. I lived at your house for a long time. Had all da girls learning Hula from
your Mom. Good scenery, good vibes, good friends and good old days. Gotta get back to the old times. Dis new
times just too much change for us. Old times were simple. Just box with Cleigh, surf when get, play eggettes,
doze tops, and sing when happy. Memories so precious. Your Bradda Paul Shepard…

It would be great to see David again. 18 years since he's been back to Ewa Beach (according to youngest sister, Doris). Mrs. Cueva's 85th birthday last Sunday.
I saw this photo in today's newspaper here in Bali. Reminded of the time my dad brought me down to Honolulu to watch the guys diving for coins being tossed from the S.S. Lurline. Must have been one of the last voyages; that may have been why we were there? not sure.

Howzit Tom. I made sure to have a few Phillip's brothers size shirts (I was with Mike and Rick last August). XXXL here like XXL there. Got it. No worries. Aloha, Mike B
aloha Cleigh, i was the water boy for campbell’s football team and Ben Mercado was one half back… he was pretty short but quick, low center of gravity, he was a starter…i think he was in the class of 65…i did’nt know he was the brother of the Cueva’s…
so what’s up with bradda Norm, lights on-no body home…by the way, do you know if any one contacted Cico to represent the Kualapai’s…i know his wife work at budget rent a car for many many moons if she neva retire…
eh Squideye, my wahine was classmates with one of old admires… her father was HPD, lived up the street from you guys…i only know her as Eda Dias…we invited her and told her to invite some of the surfer girls friends, but i don’t think i would know any of her friends cuz she is 6 years younger than me… back when i was a senior, she was in the sixth grade…ho that could be 20 years of hard time…
Ike- I know Eda, or howeva U spell um, not smell em. Her dad is Donald Dias. retired H.P.D.,her mom retired Hawaiian Air. very nice, nice Hawaiian lady… Changing the subject . ike U remember the Shaner’s, they Use to stay down the shack with us B-4. Anyway after uncle Frank SR. retired from H P.D… they moved to Kona . Frankie JR stayed on Oahu and played Disc Jockey 4 various Radio stations, youngest boy Steven spent most of his adult life on kona. i always thought Stevie boy had a little sugar in his tank," U no what i mean "Aloha T.P.
Ike, you must talking about Donetta Dias. Donetta and my brother Bernie were classmates, KS '74. I just saw her on Saturday up at KS. She is a flight attendent with Hawaiian. Her dad and my dad were friends from school time in the 40’s. I think our families are related. They lived on Onelua street by the McClungs.
Uncle Donald used to come down to the beach all the time. A while ago he fell on a jet going to Seattle and is a quad. Really sad story. His son Darrell was one of the SC regulars. Darrell is younger than me. Darrell is also gone, he had a bad motorcycle accident.
