We are getting some tunnel fins moulded, and will be using FCS plugs to mount them.
Can anyone give me the exact FCS tab dimensions ?
Thanks in advance !

I believe they are F wide, C high, and S deep.
just kidding. Here is a prior thread on the topic:
http://www.swaylocks.com/forum/gforum.cgi?post=250704;search_string=fcs%20tab;#250704
I don’t believe that thread specifies the thickness of the fin base, which as I recall is 1/4 inch, or 6.35 millimeters.
Thanks Keith (did a search but got about a zillion threads mentioning FCS! )
I still need the thickness of the tabs acrossways ( I only have depth and length of tab so far )
Beat me to it with your edit, thanks again.
hi tom/roy !
can we see them when they are done please ?
cheers !
ben
…would you consider going with tartan material inlay ?
Hello Chip/Ben,
The tunnels will be of Chinese manufacture so we feel that Dragons will be more appropriate.
Will send you a complimentary fin for Wozlok use
The fins are called Vort-X (TM) . . . . . .
classic !
cheers mate !
will the tunnel be “adaptable” [?flexible?] to fit different plug placements , or is it a BACK fin one , I guess …
china rules , and iran makes THE best surfboards in the world [just don’t tell anybody okay , it might start a war or something]
cheers ,
ben
The tunnels will have four plugs, two each side, each inline pair being 2 inches from the centreline of the board. . . . best as a trailer fin.
" each inline pair being 2 inches from the centreline of the board. . . . best as a trailer fin. "
hahahhhh
…good idea !

Hi Chip,
Here’s a drawing of the fin, being worked on at factory HQ in China.
wow !
cheers thomas !

Fin tabs are 0.250 inches thick.
hi mate…
our club (keyhole boardriders) were hosting one of those quiksilver airshows a couple o years ago. and few of the boys were riding these contraptions shown below…
so i got in contact with the rep, who was touring with them… a dude ‘leith’, who gave me a few “tunl’s” to try…
(here one of my HEIST flat nose fishes, with one of the TUNL’s attached)
maybe check out www.tunlsurf.com…( i guess you may have already)
they had glass-on, and fcs tabbed versions… but they seamed like a mickey mouse sort of outfit… maybe they never kinda got them off the ground.
i do know that they worked well in a few of my board designs tho!
good luck with yours bro…they look like alot of fun to ride…
i’d be mad keen to hook up for a set when production is underway
Hello Heist,
Nice to hear from you. I remember that Piha/Tunl business, I had been bugging Craig at New Zealand Surfing Mag for ages about our tunnels, but was sort of ignored, then read about the tunl gizmos at the airshow being promoted by NZSM ( so I thought) so i phoned Craig up and was like hey “remember MY tunnels mate ?” and he just said that not to worry about them because the boys all said they were no good and that they would just disappear. . . . . so it’s really good to hear that you liked them because although I love tunnels I have never tried one in a thruster. As you might have noticed they ride differently, like you can’t sink the tail and they are sensitive to pitch angle.
Our tunnels will ride similarly to the square one, but will be more efficient. . . those little tabs inside the tunl are a waste of time, might as well grind them off.
Will let you know when we have some of the goods
Roy
hi mate…
yeah, hope you get some back soon…
i’d really like to have a good source for some diff fins.
btw… C.P.L is a good bro of mine, i regularly give him a hiding in the k-hole events haha… dont tell him i said that.
so if you ever need to push your product, dont hesitate to give me a shout… i can try jack him up for photos etc…
best o luck
