Lam resin kicked a little faster than I’d hoped and I have gobs of resin on rails and bottom of the board. Do I just sand this down with some 80 or something?

The best method I’ve found is to flip the board over and paint a coat of clear lam around the deck line that will protect the foam from getting scarred. You can then use a file or sanding block without too much fear. A surform can snag large resin chunks and tear them out of the foam, so be careful. With a little patience you can salvage it nicely. http://www.JimtheGenius@aol.com

I would follow that advice and use a small disc sander at a low rmp (don’t burn the resin at a high rpm by concentrating on one area too long, this kicks the cat. again and turns the area yellow) or be safe and hand block sand. Definately salvagable thought. Take your time.

I took it to work with me and put an orbital on it. Yes, I burned a dime sized spot on the deck. Took it down to where it looked and felt ok and hot coated it. Boy, the shine sure shows lumps and dips off well doesnt it. thanks guys
Oops, my message didn’t post last time. I had suggested doing some color work on the sanded hotcoat that would cover up the booboo in the foam. It happens…
