factory work...

Anybody have experience working in a high production board house or factory? Was it a good work environment? Would you do it again?

Some options have opened up and I’m looking for advice.

Thanks,

Mak

Hey Mak,i worked part time for four months in the CB,Erie, westwind factory, thats in Edgewater,Fl. dont know if i’d like to make a living at it but it was alot of fun, like factory teamboards, closing up when the waves where good"6 foot rule" and the Orlando surf expo was a bonus.plus now i know how to make my own boards as a hobbie

i had a lot of fun when i was doing it. the guy i worked for had a great ventalation system and a stong sense of saftey. he was also super anal about quality and we had a joke that ANY blemish on a finished board sent it to the “$250 rack.” i was taught everyting related to glassing and sanding and making fins. I’d do it again under 3 condations.

the factory would have to be epoxy only.

it would have to have dustless sanders.

and it would have to make more then you adverage 6’2" chip over and over and over and over and over again…

it was way more fun and i learned sooooo much more then my four years sitting around a surf shop watching surfvids and selling surf crap.
