Fastest end-to-end board you have ever done?

So it takes me about two weeks to go end-to-end on a board build. I have a full time job, commute on a train, have to travel on business. However, I’m thinking about trying to do a quality board from foam to polish in a weekend by myself. I think this is perfectly doable. But, can I do this in a single 24 hour period? 12 hours? Less?

Depends on if you have a family that requires some or none of your attention. I am also about a 2 week build guy myself.

I’m not the first one to do it, but from shaping to surfing in a working day is very doable…just got to be organized…and being single helped…

Fastest is one day for me. Thats shape, install fin plugs, lam, hotcoat, and install leash cup the first day then sand the next morning. Thats for a basic clear finish no cut laps. Could probably do all in single day, sanding at night but id rather wait till morning so hotcoat hardens more.

Trust me, I have a family. WIth that said, I’m thinking about trying a 24 hour build this spring. They can suffer without me for a little while  By biggest question: How many F-bombs do I drop in that 24 hours?

On at least four occasions I’ve made a new board, from shape to surfing, in under 24 hours. At least two were balsa boards. All were longboards. I did it all, shape , glass, sand, gloss. Last time I did that was over fifty years ago. I could never do it now.

24 hours of work time or 24 hours of clock time?

24 hours of clock time.

i have not done it but theoretically it is reasonable to do it in 8 hours…
6am-8am shape
8am-9am install fin boxes (with catalyst)
9am-10am glass bottom (UV cure)
10am-11:30am clean laps and glass deck with leash plug (UV cure)
11:30am-12pm hotcoat deck (UV cure)
12pm-1pm grind laps, tape, and hotocat bottom (UV cure)
1pm-2pm sand and finish
a few hours left to get out in the waves and try it out!
