Favorite fin systems?

Just wondering what fin system most people use. I’ve been using FCS for a while and have heard good things about others such as Future fins and Redex fins. Seems like FCS is sorta on its way out, but it seems like a lot of boards I see still have FCS. Definitly not as many though. Thanks

I like O’Fish’l. No screws no tools. No striping threads. Only problem they don’t make all of the choices in fins, that the other guys do.

Single fin system. You can even get a box for it.

Fin unlimited center, Future Fins system rails are my favorites for most boards. Red - X & Edge Fin systems, & Speed fins have features that give the surfer some very interesting options out of a fixed box installation & Loc Box is a good strong system as well.are all top quality systems and shouldn’t be overlooked by any builder who wants to put a good secure system in a board. All systems have they’re merits and shortcommings. It all depends on what appeals to the builder and surfer. Off the work, Rich

I was on this website the other day and it was like about how you could rotate the fins on the board. I forget what the site was called or anything, but have any of you ever herd of this?

Seems odd to me that with all the really good systems out the majority of the industry opted for the weakest system with the poorest performance.

Greg, Daum Tooling, inc. started O’Fish’l with Mel Ross. The concept was a more efficient production installation method. The original idea was to glue fins in, not removable. It was only after making the initial parts, that it became apparent, that you could have a removable system. FCS came along just after O’Fish’l. FCS had the advantage of ease of installation in many different bottom contours. Future is a spin off of O’Fish’l via Bill Stewart. Larry Block was the original FCS distributor in the U.S… Once it started kicking FCS pull the US market in house. Daum Tooling, inc. split and lost O’Fish’l and consequently, Red X was born.

The Edge Fin system is great. Why have fixed fin toe when you could have it mobile? With a 6-7" fin box in the center you can frig around with your fins to no end. It seems like a no-brainer to me. I can’t justify setting any other fins because…what if the board would have worked alot better with just a little more toe?Trvr

Single fins rule!

Hi Guys,i’ve had great results with Speeedfins (www.speeedfins.com).Bit tricky to install but performance more than justifies the effort.Fewer fins in the range than FCS and much clearer performance distinction between them Vs. FCS that can be down-right disappointing between even their “flagship” carbon-lites.Oh, they’re also cheaper than FCS !

O’Fishl are so darn easy, no srews, can change them in seconds.
