favorite shears

I’d like to find out what others think are the “best” shears (scissors). I’ve bought Heritage shears through a local distributor and they are good. But I’m wondering if there might be better prices, quality, sharpening services, whatever elsewhere. I also cut carbon and kevlar, and tri and quadaxial fabrics at times too. I’m in So. Cal. but would be willing to deal online and out of state if the price, quality, and service was right. Any recommendations?

While on the topic, has any one tried using pinking shears. They give that serrated cut edge. Dress makers use them to cut fabric to minimise fraying. They are expensive so dont want to buy a pair just to experiment.

Trimming cloth: Electric scissors (2 AA bat), Big Lots (Pic’n Save) $2.99. Extremely clean cuts, never any fraying. Comes with extra blades.

Snipping: Magic Shears 4" (serrated), Harbor Freight $.99

I have lots of big, heavy duty oldies, but I can’t seem to get the sharpening down right. Anybody have a good technique?

…99 cents at the 99 cent store.Bought like a dozen and gave away like 9 of them. They work great as long as you keep freshys in them…in them not you!Herb
