My other boards are here: http://www.swaylocks.com/…iew_flat;post=222256
Here is the new one I’working on.
The board will be made for a friend who’s something like 1m75 & 65kg.
Where we surf, waves can be fantastic (long shouldered 1m50 walls) but the can also be mushy and week.
Most of time we surf like 1m to 1m50 and waves are not that hollow or powerfull.
So, we need boards tha can hold many situations.
As we have a lot to paddle te reach the peak, we need comfort.
So, the boards here have to be like skateboard, fast and easy to manoeuvre.
So far, I never really shape a “performance” shortboard (mostly eggs, bonzers, fishes, singles…).
So that one is a challenge to me.
I’ve designed a round pintail:
6’0" x 18"3/4 x 2"3/8 (nose = 11"3/4 & tail = 14"1/2)
wide point 2" back
nose rocker = 5"1/4 & tail rocker = 1"3/4
By the way, the blank is a 6’11"R I ordered BEFORE clark stopped and recieved AFTER…
So it may not be the most accurate blank but I’m afraid it’s gonna be the last Clark I’ll shape (well almost, I still have one shot).

The rough Clark blank and the outlined blank:
And this is my way to check everything is flat and regular on the bottom, using the level and an aluminium stick that I position perpendicular to the stringer.
If both lines match all the board long, then it’s flat and regular.
So far, I’ve outlined the blank and started working on the deck.
Tomorrow I’ll shape the rails and bottom contour (sigle to double concave).
Thank’s for reading.
