FCS longboard Fin Box

Hey.

I have a ong board fin box from FCS… I’m having touble deciding the best way to install this.

Normally with the FU boxes I just route out the hold, fill it with chopped strand and white resin and it the little lips on the box hold it perfectly in position.

This FCS box has no such lips and I really don’t know how I’m gonna get it installed with out the allignemt being screwed up

Any suggestions welcomed .

Howzit Brian, I hope you realize that the only fins that fit in FCS fin boxes are FCS fins. I have the set-up to install them but when I saw the difference in the width of the box I checked it against a Bahn and realized the difference. FCS fins for the box cost about twice what a regular fin would. FCS had a jig and router bit for installing their boxes.Just a heads up for you.Aloha,Kokua

I’m so glad I didn’t just launch that box in with a “hope for the best” attitude. I think I will relegate this fin box to the bottom of the pile.

I recently did a bonzer with the FCS box. The True Ames fin fitted perfectly. Installing the box Was definitely more of a chore, and I’m still not happy with it.
