Few Del Cannons

Hi all,

I have a few del cannons I would like to compare and contrast. 2 long boards 9’6 and 9,8 . The other is a 6,6 round deck flipped nose diamond tail. Trying to get more info on them. I know the 9,6 is an early one and numbered 83. The other has cut up lams in the comp band and lighter with no number. Thx

Those are nice.  He made some extremely nice boards in the day.  I think that is the only DC Shortboard I remember even seeing a picture of.  His longboards were almost always clear and exceptionally clean.  Used to see an occasional DC on trips I made to So. O.C.  Back in the day.  He didn’t stay at it very long, but was at the top of the class.

The longboard in the first pic looks like a noserider shape. I’d put it in the 1966 ballpark. Looks really clean and a lot whiter than the other log.

Del shaped for Fred Wardy before starting his own brand, so you know he had a top notch mentor.

I heard he wound up spending his life on the Big Island as a Charter Skipper.  That’s a great life.

Pls pls check your PM. Thx
