fiberglass cloth tape for repairs...

Found this on e-bay and was wondering if anyone has tried this or something similar-- maybe good for quick ermergancy repairs. Tape it up, hit with some fast curing resin, quick sand, and go surf. Any thoughts? http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1621273582

That is 10oz, one inch tape. Forget it. I tried tape on my first surfboard, it looked bad. Never again! Just get yourself a yard some good 4oz or 6oz E-glass cloth for half the price of that tape. That person on ebay is looking for an industrial buyer and the bid price is too high already for wholesale.>>> Found this on e-bay and was wondering if anyone has tried this or > something similar-- maybe good for quick ermergancy repairs. Their is no fast and easy way to do ding repair correctly!Using tape of any kind is a not good.If you donot give the open wound time to dry out completely before you tape it up you will be trapping moisture in causing a quicker break down of the board’s integrity. You also risk leaking during use,and trapping moisture in the taped area days after it’s been out of the water.Take the time and fix it right. The board will last much longer.Herb
