I’ve been getting fcs plugs off the net but would like to try some other fin systems i.e. futures, lockbox, etc. Can these be purchased online and if so where?

Tuna, You can get other fin systems on-line. But, remember that each of the other fin systems have special installation considerations. I have not tried Future Fins site or Bahne’s Site in a while. But, www.redx.com is up and you can inquire to Larry the best way to get them and the how to install. If you want Future try doing a search. It has worked for me in the past. www.futurefins.com is down.
Thanks Tom. I did a set of locbox’s that I got from Bahne, but they could not take charge cards and ended up shipping them to me cod from the post office which added 9.00 bucks or so to the cost.
Tuna: You shouldn’t have any problem getting the LokBox system directly from Fins Unlimited. I’ve never used this system though, anyone out there who has? It’s been around a while and I’ve seen quite a few labels using it. There seems to be a nice template selection of glass fins too. How is it installed and can you do it with off the shelf tools or is an installation kit required? As I recall the box design maximizes the resin to foam bond with lots of box suface area. No detail of this on their site however-- www.finsunlimited.com TS>>> I’ve been getting fcs plugs off the net but would like to try some other > fin systems i.e. futures, lockbox, etc. Can these be purchased online and > if so where?
Larry Block Enterprises distributes Red X Fin Systems. I know that they do accept credit cards. But, Larry might have a better alternative that is closer to you for support.
You can get Future Fins at Fiberglass Supply. www.fiberglasssupply.com>>> I’ve been getting fcs plugs off the net but would like to try some other > fin systems i.e. futures, lockbox, etc. Can these be purchased online and > if so where? http://www.viser.net/~anthwind/
Tom…I installed lokbox fins using a router and two home made jigs. First jig to cut a goove and the second to cut an oval. They do have lots of resin to foam bond. I then put a glass patch over the oval top of the box cutting out the finslot and srew set areas. This seemed to work well and was easy to do.
