I done a few futures installs thus far and I am starting to come across a small issue that sometimes arises. Wondering what you guys recommend as the best fix or solution for this.
I route the fin boxes which seem to be pretty spot on. I mix my poly resin and flood the route. When I set the boxes, sometime I will have one or more that wants to float higher above the level of the foam. Sometime as little in the front or the back or both. If I leave it, the box rises and creates voides in the flanges around the box.
Should I just try to run a trip of tape to keep it down? I have found that I may need tape holding the rear down and also pressure towards the nose as it will then lift unevenly out of the box, as in not level from front to rear.
Should I cut flat spots on the dummy fins so that I can use tape strips to evenly apply pressure front and rear? I think I’m asnwering my own question. This seems reasonable.
I guess my question then is has anyone come acrosse this issue of the box rising or floating in their route and how did you combat the issue?
