fin construction

When I am making a center fin for a longboard, can i mix yellow and blue coloring into the epoxy and have it turn out green, or will the chemicals in the coloring agents just swirl around a lot? The coloring agents are just your standard gel coat colors that you add to the epoxy before puttting the hardener in. Also, after my 15 or so layers of fiberglass clothe harden, what kind of saw should i use to cut out the shape I want, or should I just grind it down using my dad’s grinder. Either way, I don’t want to mess up his tools or my fin. What kind of drill bits should i use to drill the holes needed for the screws?

can anybody out there help me?

Stir it up real good and it will definitely be a solid green color. When cutting it out, a jig saw with a blade for plastic will do but a band saw would be better. When foiling, use a disc sander followed by hand sanding. When drilling, most any bit will work if it’s sharp. Clamp the screw tab from the sides to prevent the layers from splitting and make sure the hole is straight or it will be hard to line up the screw with plate.
