Fin for 7'6 mid length

Hola Swaylockians,

I juts completed an 7’6 single fin mid length and am unsure about what fin to put in it. This is my first foray into egg territory so I really have no experience to base my decision on. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. The board has a 10.5 bane box and it is 22 wide with a 14.25 inch tail. It has pretty soft and full eggy rails that slowly transition into a semi hard edge out the tail. Thanks again for your help and long live Swaylocks!

Pulled tail for an egg, I’d run a Skip Frye 7.5" and see how it goes.

Cool thanks Phebus. I was thinking I didn’t have to go too deep with the fin because the tail is relatively narrow.

One of these could work well for you.

Greenough Stage IV 7.5" to 8"
A Griffin template @ 7.25" to 7.5"
A Mental template @ 7.25" to 7.5"
Your fin box would let you experiment.
I think a bit of fin flex would serve the board well.

Stay Stoked, Rich

Thanks Halcyon I appreciate the help! I will definitely give those templates a try! Now I just need some decent waves haha.

halcyon makes some good suggestions for this board, even though it’s not an egg.

Cool cool. Yea i guess I say egg because i didn’t know what else to call it haha. would there be a better description for this type of board? I

some people are calling these funboards or midlengths, kinda vague terms, but there’s usually quite a bit of variety within each category anyway. You could say pintail funboard, or pintail midlength. Great looking board!

Great thanks Huck. I’ll stick with mid length!
