Just glassed the bottom of my first board, took my time with setup, completely forgetting to cut fin patches, went really smooth so far. Any issues with just laying a small sheet of glass for the fin patch and laminating it on? Link to pictures below.
No problem at at all. If you do tints, that’s how you do it. Lay down your patches, fair out the edges, and hotcoat. Glass patches over is not a bad idea, either. Just more work if you screw up.
If you’re doing epoxy, you can do them both at the same time. PE might be tricky. Pre cut your deck cloth, and neatly roll them up. Fip it, lay down the patches, flip it back, roll out the deck cloth, and laminate. Just make sure the rack misses the patches when you flip it.
