Need some suggestions regarding fin placement on a 7’3" x20 x 2 3/4" , 13" tail, 11 1/2" nose. Wide point is 2" above center. The tail shape is a pin. I’m using futures boxes and I want to get them set before I start air brushing. I know this question gets asked often but I figured its different for every board. Sorry but I didn’t take any pics I’m sure that would help. Also how far should I tow them?
center 3 3/4" , sides 13" 1" off rail, 1/8" tow at 4 " up
even thought The base of my fins are 4 1/2" that amount of tow is cool? I don’t doubt you, just wondering for clarification.
Extend your lines top and bottom through your mark dots. Line up jig according to directions. if the fins you are using are not adjustable up and down in the box, you might want to consider using Red-X systems, cuz you can adjust fins north and south with this box. Being able to move your fin cluster closer or further apart will be more noticible in performance in different wave conditions than your tow being 1/8" at 4" or 4 1/2" up.
4" up and 1/8 tow is just what I use. Go up 4 1/2" ,if you want use less/more tow. I tend to use less and 1/8" at 4 " is not very much. Draw a straight line 4" long on a piece of paper then make a dot 1/8" from the top and draw the new line from the bottom. not very much tow huh? You may want more.
