I recently started to broaden my horizons in the way of fin selection, and realized that I got into a wasps nest. It’s a little overwhelming. Could anyone compare, say the Wingnut cutaway as opposed to the Harbour HP1 fin in medium to small surf for a single fin setup. Thanks, Ben
The larger the back fin is and the further back it is placed, the more it pulls the tail down, allowing for better hold and better noseriding. The smaller the fin is and the further up it is placed the looser it will be and easier it will plane. There are numerous fin designs that give you all different kinds of feels but the the statement above will always be the overriding result.
